Holland, who died surrounded by family on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born June 24, 1945, in Harland, Iowa, to Sherwood Worth Holland and Bette Verlee Hansen Holland Springer. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by three sons, Lyle Carter Willits (Theresa), of Decatur, Christopher Peter Willits (Andrea), of Half Moon Bay, and Phillip Scott Willits, of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Megan Boston, of Trinity, Sara Barfield, of Flint, Paige Willits, of Decatur, and Adam Willits and Madeleine Willits, of Half Moon Bay; three great-grandchildren, Carter Boston, of Trinity, and Grant Barfield and Jonathan Barfield, both of Flint; and former husband, Peter Willits, of Leawood, Kansas. The family of Ms. Holland wishes to express their deep appreciation and to sincerely thank the caring staff at Summerford Nursing Home and friends for their acts of kindness and sympathy.The graveside service for Sheri Lynn Holland, age 72, of Decatur, was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens, with Bobby King officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
